Editorial Transparency
1. Editorial leadership and responsibility
Evaluación de Riesgos Laborales is led by an Editor-in-Chief who has ultimate responsibility for editorial decisions and safeguards the independence, academic integrity and scientific quality of the published content.
The Editor-in-Chief acts with full editorial autonomy and without commercial, institutional or personal interference.
2. Editorial team
The journal has an editorial team composed of academic and professional specialists whose role is to support editorial management, scientific assessment and the strategic development of the publication.
The composition of the editorial team is reviewed periodically.
The journal also has a Scientific Committee composed of recognised specialists in fields related to occupational safety and health. Its members contribute to the journal's academic rigour and scientific quality.
3. Manuscript assessment process
All submitted manuscripts undergo a preliminary editorial assessment to verify their suitability for the journal's scope and compliance with its submission and presentation requirements.
Manuscripts that pass this stage are evaluated through external double-blind peer review by independent reviewers selected for their expertise in the relevant subject area.
4. Separation of editorial and scientific functions
The preliminary editorial assessment focuses exclusively on formal, ethical and submission-related matters, as well as compliance with the journal's editorial requirements.
The assessment of scientific content is the responsibility of external peer reviewers, who provide independent reports supporting the final editorial decision.
5. Editorial independence and conflicts of interest
All members of the editorial team and all reviewers must disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest that could affect the assessment of a manuscript.
Where a conflict of interest exists, the person concerned must refrain from participating in the relevant editorial process.
6. Transparency of the editorial process
Each published scientific article clearly states its dates of receipt, acceptance and publication, as well as the type of review conducted.
Information concerning the journal's editorial, ethical and Open Access policies is publicly available on the journal website.
7. Updating of editorial policies
Updating of editorial policies and DOI assignment
Since 2026, Evaluación de Riesgos Laborales has systematically assigned persistent Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to published articles and has updated and formalised its editorial policies in accordance with international standards for scholarly publishing.
Articles published before 2026 retain their scientific and editorial validity, even where a DOI was not assigned, in accordance with the publishing practices applicable at the time of publication.
8. Funding and revenue sources
Evaluación de Riesgos Laborales is funded through resources provided by its publisher, AUTOEDICION JJMM. The journal charges authors no submission, assessment or publication fees and charges readers no subscription or access fees.
Funding sources do not influence manuscript assessment or decisions concerning acceptance, rejection, correction or publication.
9. Advertising policy
The journal does not place commercial advertising within scientific articles and does not allow advertising interests to influence editorial decisions or the peer-review process.
Any promotional content that may appear in other areas of the website is kept clearly separate from scientific content and has no connection with manuscript submission, assessment, acceptance or publication.
10. Direct marketing and editorial communications
Communications addressed to prospective authors, reviewers or Scientific Committee members are appropriate, targeted and unobtrusive.
The journal does not guarantee manuscript acceptance or publication and does not make misleading claims about its scope, indexing, metrics or editorial process. Recipients may request at any time not to receive further editorial communications.
